The biography of NIGER AREA.

The Biography of Niger Area (Nigeria) by Umehwrites.

Different area’s around the Niger were amalgamated by Lord Luggard, and ever since they’ve existed as one…
really, have they? At first, it was like a happy ending, except with no happily ever after.
Like a peacock, they displayed true colours, and for 3 years brothers turned enemies and blood flowed like water.

But at last, they reconciled, displayed fake smiles and pretended everything was okay. But deep down blood
was boiling, and this bad blood would be passed down from one generation to another…

Fast forward to a few decades and amidst their pretence, many mini-wars had been fought. some were religious,
some political, and others out of vengeance. Many years later and this bad blood was still boiling….

With a deceptive heart and a broad smile we scream “One Nigeria”, but Favouritism and Nepotism is the order of
the day. Blinded by religion, we kill each other at the slightest provocation,
and Tribalism is our own form of racism.

Things fell apart, that some people accorded cows more value than human life. We burn a person alive for stealing
food but hail corrupt Politicians for stealing looted funds. When “Lazy Nigerian Youths” are rewarded with
Police Brutality and the government has no plan for the masses.
When we sell our votes for a plate of porridge.
When we’re quick to blame Politicians, even when the ordinary Nigerian in the grassroots is very corrupt!
When we forget about agriculture and other potential sectors and focus on oil.
When every youth is plotting to escape abroad, only to become slaves in another man’s land. …
the list is endless. All these and more show that; we’re yet to take a bold step in a journey of a thousand miles.

But in all this, our flaws have made us stronger, and our survival instinct second to none.
We have found unity in disunity, and courage in the face of fear. So with the sight of an eagle and the strength
of twin horses, we can put aside our differences and unite as one. And instead of asking what Nigeria has done
for us, we look for what to do to make her a better place.
And only then can different area’s around the Niger unite like broomsticks, to be unbreakable!
